Marcel Desbiens
Marcel Desbiens founded Brisbane Painting Classes in 2005 following a considerable interest in his unique oil painting methods, which were developed through decades of studying the techniques of the ‘Old Masters’ such as Caravaggio, Rubens, and Rembrandt. His belief that anyone can paint – given appropriate instructions on the correct tools, skills, and techniques – led him to develop a series of classes in oil painting from beginner to advanced. Brisbane Painting Classes expanded to “Bienarté”, which now includes a variety of classes for different levels – a number of award-winning artists also deliver classes and workshops in the studio. Marcel’s passion for painting and his enormous in-depth knowledge for oil painting are clearly visible in his teaching and his ongoing dedication to his own art.
