She is an instinctive cook and he is a brilliant professional chef. Join chef Alexandre Goyard and famous French cooking master Anne-Sophie Dubois for a saucy journey! Learn about six different savoury sauces commonly used in French cuisine, and what makes each one stand out. Here you will learn how to make them and which dishes to best pair them with. Chef Alex will also take on a short history lesson of French sauces, while discussing with Anne-Sophie on how you can quickly fix up a ‘saucy’ mistake; because even a chef will slip up occasionally.
About the Chef
Alexandre Goyard grew up in Nice, in the South of France. Since graduating 15 years ago, he has travelled the world and built up a solid foundation of culinary knowledge. His first cook experience was working with Michelin star chef Patrick Massera, who has restaurants in France and Italy. He has also had the opportunity to work with Alain Ducasse, one of the most recognised chefs in the world. Alex believes that cooking is a very rewarding art that requires passion, dedication and sacrifices.
About the Cook
Anne-Sophie Dubois comes from a French family where cooking and enjoying food is a serious business. When she arrived in Australia, Anne-Sophie started cooking the dishes she had learned from her parents and grandmothers for her children and her friends, sharing the story behind each dish at the same time. When she saw how much people enjoyed it, she first decided to regroup all the recipes and stories in a book,“My Traditional French Cooking”, and then the idea of sharing her passion with a larger public came through.
