WHAT'S ON FOR LE FESTIVAL 2023?

Join us at Victoria Park/Barrambin on July 21st – 23rd ! We invite you for a ‘magnifique’ experience ‘a la française’: stroll through a specially selected array of French or French-inspired exhibitors and artisans at our French Market and Artists’/Artisans’ tent, enjoy a diverse group of artists performing on the Main Stage, stop by our French bar for a glass of Champagne, or head over to our Boutique de Maurice for some souvenirs of your weekend with Le Festival, and a chance to win some exciting prizes in our raffle (or two)!

When: Friday 21st July (5pm-9pm), Saturday 22nd July (8am-9pm) and Sunday 23rd July (8am-5pm).
Where: Victoria Park/Barrambin (find your route).
What to expect:
French Market with array of specially selected French or French-inspired stalls, artists and artisans, a French bar, a raffle, entertainment on our (mini) main stage and roving entertainers, Le Festival merchandise, a kids’ corner, and… just wait and see!
Tickets: $12 Earlybird + Concession, $15 at the gate, under 12 FREE

Friday 21st July - Afternoon

Friday is our Opening Night! Stroll through and take in the sights as we kick off with a lounge theme DJ set before the Opening Ceremony, then into French Cabaret and Burlesque, with French Jazz in between, and round it up with more DJ tunes.

Saturday 22nd July - Morning

On Saturday morning, we will start with a light DJ set, followed by French choral entertainment, and then pick up the pace with French swing jazz. French CanCan will liven up the stage at lunchtime.

The afternoon program will start with French chanson, after which we’ll go to Polynesia for some traditional dances. Brief stop there for a French car display, before we go Moulin Rouge style with Cabaret to take us into the evening.

More Cabaret will start the night with a hit! You’ll then be able to enjoy your French favourites before another round of Cabaret (because twice is not enough), segueing into a Burlesque show, then wind down with French folk jazz before we finish with another DJ set.

Sunday 23 July - morning

Day 3 – it’s been a busy weekend so far, so enjoy your morning croissant as we start once again with a DJ set, and some French chanson, before we brighten it up with CanCan dancing before lunch.

Enjoy your glass of Champagne as we keep going strong with another round of CanCan to light up the stage, followed by French Cabaret, swing jazz, chanson, and more Cabaret… until we wrap it up with the exciting raffle draw, and more French recorded melodies.

Our French celebration is never without a glass of Champagne or other French beverage to say “tchintchin”! 

Our French bar will offer you a selection of French:

  • Champagne Laurenti NV
  • Sparkling – Veuve Ambal Rosé
  • Kir Royal
  • Red wines: Lussac St Emilion or Pinot Noir
  • White wines: Pinot Gris or Kir
  • Rosé de Provence 
  • Frenchies Beer

  • … And we’ll also have some ‘vin chaud’ (mulled wine) to warm you up! 

Make sure you stop by the bar so we can say “bonjour”!

On Saturday and Sunday, Le Festival’s “Coin d’Enfants” will keep our youngest Francophiles and Francophones entertained all day long!

Our French Market will also have a dedicated artists’ area to showcase creativity ‘a la française’ at its best. 

All of these will also be local, as well as interstate, French and French-inspired creators and artisans. At Le Festival, we very much support local businesses, so we are giving their talent a chance to shine.

Climate Fresk Australia will facilitate a series of workshops designed to make you think about climate change, its causes and effects, and simple yet effective actions and meaningful solutions.

Getting There

  • 'Green Travel': Cycling, eScooters, and Walking

    Victoria Park/Barrambin has several pedestrian and cycling paths from the northside and the city. The park is accessible by a range of on- and off-road bikeways and shared pathways. Bike parking is available in various locations throughout the park.

  • Public Transport

    The Herston Bus Station is a short 630m / 8 min walk to the event site. The Herston Bus Station is on the Northern Busway which connects Victoria Park from the City to Chermside.

    Visit the Translink website to find your route. 

  • Driving (and Parking)

    Driving is also an option, of course. Victoria Park / Barrambin has free onsite parking via Gilchrist Avenue.

    There are a number of conveniently located multi-story car parks surrounding Victoria Park / Barrambin including:

    • Cornerstone Parking – Herston Road Car Park (650m / 8 min walk from the event)

    • QUT Kelvin Grove (950m / 12 min walk from the event)
