Rendez-vous in South Bank | 7-8-9 July 2017

The 2017 Edition

This year’s festival is going to be bigger and better than ever !

Australia’s biggest French festival – Le Festival – has released its full programme, promising a weekend in Brisbane of food, wine and French culture like no other.

This year’s festival, from Friday 7 – Sunday 9 July 2017 in South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt, will see the return of festival favourites as well as a host of new French-inspired acts.

Best Friday after work!

The 2017 festival will include a massive opening night party with performances by live bands including Baby et Lulu as well as New Caledonia’s Full Bordel.

From French classical music to a French DJ; from gypsy jazz to can-can; from local French inspired song to international rock acts, there’s something in this year’s line-up for everyone.

French Market

You will be able to pair their wine with delicious French cheeses and will be spoilt for choice with the biggest cheese display in Le Festival’s history. At the French Market you will find a selection of French gastronomy, with this year’s offering including moules-frîtes, raclette, as well as a classic selection of delicious French pastries.

Bordeaux and beyond – Wine Pavilion

New this year is an Exclusive Wine and Champagne Bar – a treasure trove of delightful wines and champagnes hidden behind our Bordeaux and Beyond Wine pavilion.

Masterclasses

You can also enjoy a series of masterclasses over the course of the weekend where they will learn about French style, taste delicious French wines, cheeses and beers, or paint a French masterpiece while sipping wine.

Kids Corner - "Les 5 sens"

Of course, we haven’t forgotten about our youngest fans, with children’s activities available throughout Le Festival.”

New ! La French Week

La French Week Following Le Festival, La French Week will be a weeklong celebration of all things French, the first of its kind in Australia, from Monday 10 July until Bastille Day, Friday 14 July, with venues across Brisbane hosting French photography, art workshops, and performances. Fresh from a month of sold out Paris shows, festival ambassador Paul Taylor will kick off La French Week with a performance at the Tivoli on Monday night (10 July 2017).
