Other activities

Pétanque Competition

We are finally bringing Pétanque back to Brisbane!
This will be a casual competition for ages 16+ in mixed teams of two or three players.
Click the button below for all the details and to register your team.
*A huge “merci” to Pascal and the Brisbane Petanque Club for your help organising the competition.*

Drinks & Mini french bar

This will be a mini version of our Le Festival Bar. Thibaut and Tibo have prepared a great selection of some French essentials for you: Canard Duchêne Champagne, and Ricard, one “Rouge” (Red), two “Blancs” (White), one “Pétillant” (Sparkling Rosé), our favourite Frenchies Beer, and locally made Krazy Lemon lemonades.

A few LOcal French Stalls

A fun family day out would not be complete without our favourite picnic food.

We will have a few French food stalls to satisfy your hunger including Pascal‘s famous crêpes, Aurelien’s selection of French cheeses, and Le Festival will have King Street Bakery/MICA croissants and pains au chocolat (OUI, there will be coffee as well!). We will also be preparing French sandwiches with their very “miam miam” baguettes.

Finally, we are thrilled to welcome for the first time Gelato-a-Gogo’s iconic French Citroen van.

Do not forget to stop by our Merchandise tent (La Boutique de Maurice) as we will have MASSIVE SPECIALS on T-Shirts and French Espadrilles, as well as really low prices on Le Festival bags, berets, keyrings, and more!

French Vintage Cars + France eMotion

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome the Citroen Car Club of Queensland back to one of our events. They are a long term partner of Le Festival and we can not wait to see their selection of these French vintage cars appear at Kalinga Park.

Part of the interactive Alliance Française de Brisbane exhibition called France eMotion will also be on display at our INFO/Merchandise tent. France eMotion is a virtual tour of France, and is the culmination of a long artistic tradition, inspiring artists and photographers all over the world who have described and captured these landscapes.

In order to fully experience the tour, you will need to follow these simple steps:

1. Download the free app France eMotion from the Apple App Store or Google Play (don’t worry, it’s free).
2. Allow access to your camera.
3. Focus on the photos and embark on your virtual tour of France’s greatest cultural sites. Bon Voyage!
