Thanks to your energy and time, we’re creating a vibrant weekend celebrating French culture in the heart of Brisbane.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your shift so you have time to check in, say hello, and get ready.
Where to Arrive: Volunteers Tent
When you arrive, all volunteers must register at the Volunteers Tent.
Please see the map below, where the entrance is indicated by the red location icon
At check in, you will:
- Sign in
- Collect your volunteer T-shirt, wristband, name tag and meal voucher
- Be directed to your Area Coordinator or assigned zone
- Get final instructions
- Store your belongings if needed.
Please check in before every shift at the Volunteers tent, do not go directly to your area without checking in first.

What to Bring
What to Bring
We recommend bringing:
- Refillable water bottle
- Sunscreen (also available onsite)
- Comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for weather conditions
- Light rain jacket (weather dependent)
- Hat and sunglasses
- Mobile phone (and power bank [recommended])
- Any required medication
- Photo ID / Blue Card / RSA (if required for your role).

If you are unsure who your coordinator is, ask at the Volunteers Tent.
If you see anything unsafe, unusual, or concerning, immediately notify:

Volunteer Role Descriptions
Your exact role/s for the day will be explained to you at the event. In the meantime, we will send you an email outlining which area you will be in so you can familiarise yourself with the roles.

PRE EVENT ASSISTANTS
Pre Event Assistants will join Le Festival team at their office in Brisbane city in the weeks leading up to the event to assist with important pre event admin to make sure everything is finalised and ready to go! Tasks may include packing, printing, laminating, mail merging and updating the website.
You will be contacted by the team if there is a shift available for you.
Children’s Activities

Key Responsibilities:
- Be flexible – entertainment is a busy area
- Assisting in performance changes – 10-15 mins in between each act
- Be aware of the professional technicians (if required) audio, lighting and video
- Make sure artists have arrived and know when they are scheduled on stage, ensure they have everything they need
- Manage backline (instruments)
- A volunteer to assist Maurice (our French bulldog mascot)

Food Preparation

Key Responsibilities:
- Setup on Friday morning and pack up on Sunday evening
- Building cardboard charcuterie boxes for pre-orders
- Keeping the area clean and always organised
- Preparing charcuterie boxes with cheese, meats, cornichon etc to precise quantities
- Making sandwiches to required standard
- Handling food hygienically, washing hands regularly and tying hair back
- Keeping stock up making sure enough quantity is ready to go
Masterclass / Hospitality

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of Masterclasse sessions and Hospitality services
- Welcome and assist participants and speakers
- Help coordinate session logistics (room setup, materials, timing)
Merchandise Tent (retail)
The Merchandise Tent, also known as La Boutique de Maurice (Maurice’s shop) is where we sell Le Festival branded merchandise, e.g. picnic blankets, mugs, tshirts, berets, pins (brooches), socks, tea towels, aprons etc.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up (unboxing stock and arranging on shelves)
- Greeting customers with a smile and a ‘bonjour’
- Selling Le Festival merchandise on Phone app or EFTPOS (bring a phone charger)
- Selling Raffle tickets and receiving donations on Phone app or EFTPOS
- Maintaining a safe and tidy retail opportunity
- Sunday night: packing down your tent and counting stock before packdown (5pm Sunday)U
Arrive on time and stay at your assigned location until the Merchandise Lead releases you.
Operations (pack down)
Many hands make light work! This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the event industry to gain some hands-on experience. If you don’t mind some physical work or want to help out after an earlier shift, this role is for you.

Photography / Social Media Content

Key Responsibilities:
- Capturing key moments across zones
- Taking short video clips in vertical format (ideal for Reels/stories)
- Avoiding children’s faces unless consent is given
- Uploading your best raw shots or videos to our Google Drive
- Taking behind-the-scenes content and volunteer highlights
- Helping identify emotional and visually strong moments
- Assisting the marketing team with social posts or captions (optional) .
VIP EVENT

Dates: Friday, 24 July
Times: Friday 1pm– 10pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up of separate VIP function area – glassware/name badges/tables etc
- Providing wrist bands to VIPs
- Marking off attendees names from a spreadsheet
- Greeting VIPs with a hearty ‘Bonsoir’
- Guiding VIPs to the VIP area
- Encouraging VIPs to attend Opening Ceremony – main stage
- Serving drinks to VIPs
- Pack down of tables, VIP function area
Bar
The entire venue at Roma Street Parkland is a Licensed Alcohol Area.
Alcohol must only be consumed by those 18 years and older that have valid identification on them.
Volunteers in this area will strictly always follow the directions of the Bar Manager.
You will be assisting with the set-up, pack down and service of alcohol in the bar area.

Times: Thursday 12pm – 3pm | Friday 1pm – 10pm | Saturday 8am – 10pm | Sunday 8am – 11pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Bar set up on Thursday afternoon morning
- VIP function Friday evening
- RSA preferred but not required. If you have your RSA please email us a copy of your RSA for our records (barmanager@lefestival.com.au)
- The responsible service of alcohol
- Check identification of anyone who appears to be under 25 years to ensure they are 18 years or older
- All alcohol must be consumed in the licensed area and cans etc must be opened before handing to customer for consumption
- Be aware of customers showing signs of intoxication
- Cease alcohol sales from 8:45pm, to ensure customers complete consumption before 9:30pm
- Strictly follow the directions of the Bar Manager (blue polo or white tshirt)
- Maintaining a safe and tidy station
- Being proactive by having enough stock on hand for busy times
- Sunday night: Packing down Le Bar
- Communicate with event organisers in case of emergencies or issues
- Arrive on time and stay at your assigned location until the Bar Manager releases you.
Food Distribution - Café

Key Responsibilities:
- Setup on Friday morning and pack up on Sunday evening
- Welcoming customers with a smile and friendly attitude
- Keeping the area clean and always organised
- Taking orders via EFTPOS
- Supplying pre-orders of charcuterie boxes – ensuring they are correctly marked as collected
- Supplying volunteers with sandwiches
- Preparing charcuterie boxes with cheese, meats, cornichon etc to precise quantities (as required)
- Handling food hygienically, washing hands regularly and tying hair back
- Keeping stock up making sure enough quantity is ready to go
Info Tent / Volunteers Tent / Raffle
The Information Tent, is where Le Festival goers will go to get information buy raffle tickets. You will be greeting guest and answering any questions they might have.
Volunteers Tent is where volunteers sign in and collect their tshirt,and drop their bag if required.

- Providing information and directions to participants
- Selling raffle tickets via QRCode or paper ticket
- Receiving Donations on Phone app or EFTPOS
- Maintaining a safe and tidy station
- Lost and found
- Arrive on time and stay at your assigned location until the Information Tent/Volunteers Lead releases you.
- Greeting volunteers, providing them with a tshirt, wristband, food voucher – ensuring they sign in and that they are told to check out as they finish.
- Volunteers to write themselves a name sticker.
Operations (logistics)

Key Responsibilities:
- You might be asked to lift light equipment and to manipulate tools (safely, and without hurting yourself), we need you to be attentive to your surroundings and if you detect anything abnormal or suspicious to let any member of the committee know (BLUE L’Equipe T-shirt).
- Exhibitors are demanding and that they always require something: a table, a chair, a multi power point… You will be here to assist them.
- The Entertainment crew behind the stage will need to accommodate the artists and change the layout of the stage with the proper equipment… You will be here to assist them.
- The kid’s village coordinators will probably run out of coloured pencils, be exhausted from running after all the little ones and will need help to do their set up, to fill up buckets of water etc … You will be here to assist them.
- The bar might need help restocking their fridges or miss anything during the day; they always end up running behind the bar like headless chickens; but… You will be here to assist them.
Operations (event set up)
The Event Set Up Crew will be assisting to set up event signage such as flags, fence mesh, and corflutes in South Bank. Other duties include moving crowd control barriers and setting up tables. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in the event industry and looking to gain some hands-on experience.

Ticketing

Key Responsibilities:
- Admission of guests to the venue. This will be done via scanning pre-sold tickets or selling tickets from the box office.
- We are the first point of contact for people attending Le Festival so it is important we give everyone a warm “bonjour” and leave a great first impression!
- Directing guests to the correct queue – ticket sales or pre-sold ticket entry
- Managing queues to make sure guests are making use of all available ticket scanning and sales points
- Informing guest to get their online tickets ready to show
- Answering questions about Le Festival
- Scanning pre-paid tickets
- Selling tickets and taking credit card payment
- Checking concession cards
- Checking ID to confirm if someone is over 18
- Issuing a wristband / stamp to every person that enters
- Arrive on time and stay at your assigned location until the Ticketing lead releases you
